A modernist painter of the 20th, and into the 21st Century, Tobias (Ted) Musicant lived in Plainsboro, New Jersey for many years. His work was exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy, the Philadelphia Print Club, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and others. He had solo shows at Heffers Gallery in Cambridge, England, and the Contemporary Arts Gallery in New York.
Both he and his sister Alice, an artist in her own right, exhibited at the Arts Council of Princeton, where they were members for many years. They also collaborated on a children's book, titled The Night Vegetable Eaters.
Musicant also made silver jewelry and created enamel work.
