Ola McNeill Davidson was born in Brazoria County, Texas in 1884 and raised on her family's ranch in the Texas Panhandle. Her art training began under Evangeline Fowler at the North Texas Female College and Kidd-Key Conservatory of Music and Art in Sherman, Texas.
After living in Dallas, Texas Davidson moved to Houston in 1929, where she taught at the Museum School of Art, and studied with Emma Richardson Cherry.
She died in Houston in 1976 and was buried in West Columbia, Texas.
